Digital Thinking Curriculum

Digital Thinking Curriculum

This course is an entry level course visiting the essential elements of digital change. It complements admirably hands-on tech training, familiarising people to work in team, understanding the Agile SDLC, doing quality, etc.

8-day intense programme for graduate in-takes and/or reskilling staff as part of a Digital/Agile change programme

Price varies based on format. Range £20,000 to £25,000 for a cohort.

Details of the curriculum:

The Challenge:

As the ways of working rapidly evolve, organisations often take it for granted that new joiners and graduates will get along with it when they join. It is far from obvious, and unless the management has a thorough understanding and the time to mentor their staff, joiners will struggle, and performance will suffer. Unfortunately, most graduate programmes accommodate the ways of working rather poorly. They cover technical skills and a few "soft" skill development options but leave a big gap between those.

Training Objectives:

It is why we created the Digital Thinking programme. This programme assembles a comprehensive coverage of fundamental understanding to become an effective digital knowledge worker:

  • Digital Business Patterns of Success and Digital Change for Traditional Businesses,

  • Emerging technologies and future disruption,

  • Digital ways of working, Lean and Agile working,

  • Effective teamwork and working in teams,

  • Design and Product Thinking,

  • Complexity thinking,

  • Self-reflections.

Training Outcomes:

By completing the curriculum, participants will:

  • Develop a better understanding of the digital business patterns to understand the value-add of their work,

  • Understand and experience new ways of working to operate effectively in an Agile team,

  • Appreciate the need to uphold quality and continuously engage in improving it,

  • Recognise complexity, make sense of situations and make better decisions in uncertain and changing contexts,

  • Be a collaborative team member.

Training Coverage:

The training integrates within your existing graduate programmes and retraining programmes for career changers or in the context of digital change:

  • We meet with some of your leadership and People Success to determine the people on the programme and the ambition,

  • We run the programme as an ongoing learning or a couple of intense stints,

  • The participants engage in a research project that they will present to the senior leadership at the end of the cohort. We facilitate their progress in an Agile way as well as check in with them every week.

Training Approach:

The best way to learn is to have a social experience and put it into practice. We maximise the social interactions during the training modules, using collaborative exercises and "back-of-the-room" techniques.

Training format:

The training may be run virtually, preferably using a cohort format, alternating training sessions and reflection circles about putting the learning into practice.
