Supervision Lab

Agile Collaboration Effectiveness Lab

Boost the collaboration of your team, develop your Agile leadership, and learn from sharing practical experiences.

Agile Collaboration Effectiveness Lab

8-session programme

Note: This lab is currently only available as an in-house commissioned service

The Agile Collaboration Effectiveness lab is a facilitated supervision lab of practitioners and professionals who reflect on their Agile leadership and focus on generating collaboration from Agile team events. We offer insights and education points and organise reflections in practice based on the participants' lived experiences.

The learning process is rooted in practice and makes learning practical and pragmatic. It suits people who have worked or are starting to work in Agile ways. It will develop the participants' leadership competencies and ability to lead their team with systemic leadership competencies in an Agile context.

The education points of the cohort bring perspectives from beyond the classic Agile training, and the supervision mastermind format keeps it very pragmatic, working from the practical challenges that the participants bring.

Why join a supervision lab?

Coaches nurture their coaching practice by continually engaging in supervision. Since coaching is a reflective practice, coaches progress by regularly pausing and thinking about their practice in individual or group settings.

Modern leaders and practitioners use coaching competencies, especially those working with Agile teams. Developing such leadership does not happen by attending training or earning a certification but through continuous practice. Supervision stimulates the reflective process and accelerates the development of new competencies in day-to-day practice.

So, if you want to capitalise on the qualifications you achieved or if you want to develop your learning from practical situations, Supervision circles are the next step in your competency development.

Learning outcomes

Improve your leadership - Your competencies only matter when they transform into skilled action. We shift the focus from theory to pragmatic application, using real-world reflections to develop true mastery.

Stimulate collaboration - Learn to create, sustain, and evolve a collaborative team environment. We'll also sharpen your systemic coaching skills to drive intentionality in your leadership.

Improve team performance - Elevate team performance by fostering psychological safety and promoting dynamic, open interactions. Build a supportive environment where effective collaboration thrives.

Boost Agile effectiveness - Foster a culture of adaptability and agility by encouraging open, dynamic collaboration. Create a culture of continuous improvement where teams can thrive and deliver value faster.

Prerequisites to join this cohort

To join the cohort, you do not need prior Scrum or Agile certification, though you are expected to have worked in this way and be familiar with the Agile language and the intentions of the Scrum team events.

The Agile Collaboration Effectiveness cohort transcends the traditional approach to learning from theory and organises reflections and learning from the practice instead. It is a highly pragmatic approach that complements the knowledge and experiences you have to improve your mastery.  Consequently, by joining the cohort, you will be expected to have a working example of a team from which you can share experiences and try solutions.

You do not need to be the team leader but will be expected to proactively influence your team based on the insights and new perspectives that will emerge from participating in this cohort. The learnings will help you do this from any role in the team, whether you are a scrum master, product owner or team member.

Logistics

The programmes run virtually from our Platform for Continuous Change. They will use Zoom for video conferencing. Communications will be organised from this platform, and the group is welcome to interact and discuss topics between sessions.

The sessions' dates are advertised at sign-up, and we aim to run them as advertised. You will need to accommodate the schedule in your diary. Attending the sessions is not mandatory, but you would lose the benefit of your investment if you didn't.

You can also book additional one-to-one sessions at an extra cost. Please enquire if you want additional one-to-one sessions.

Schedule of the Cohort

The Agile Collaboration Effectiveness Supervision Cohort will explore the Scrum Agile Team events and how to develop leadership skills to make those vibrant, collaborative team sessions:

  • Session 1 - Meeting the cohort and setting up the team - Meeting your peers, becoming a learning team, learning how to effectively set up a team

  • Session 2 - Making the stand-up a collaborative huddle - Develop the leadership to shift the stand-up from a status update to a session where the team collaboratively huddles to make progress.

  • Session 3 - Setting the cross-functional collaboration for the elaboration/refinement - Set up the elaboration/refinement process to provide adequate insight without becoming a full-on up-front design and in support of flow.

  • Session 4 - Organising the planning to set the sprint for effective collaboration - Organising the sprint to work from the objectives and work to be collaborated rather and divided.

  • Session 5 -  Running your reviews & demos to get useful engagement - Get the most engagement from everybody in the Review & Demo to engage their collaboration and ownership for the success of the team and the business.

  • Session 6 - Getting retros to improve the team / the work / the product effectively - Learn from Kaizen techniques and culture to bring your retro to the next level of engagement and effectiveness.

  • Session 7 - Connecting the relationship between the team roles - Never see the team in the same way, with a systemic focus on the collaborative connections between the people rather than a collection of roles.

  • Session 8 - Maintaining the contextual systemic connections of the team - No team is an island, reflect on the systemic context of the team and how the roles should equally engage inside and outside of the team.

We are not currently offering this cohort in the public, we only run it in private set-ups. If you are a business, please inquire. If you are an individual, you may join a one-to-one supervision programme, which can cover the same topics.

After taking part in this cohort, you will never see your Agile team the same way, and you will develop your leadership to boost its collaboration.
