Service Description
Format of the service: Continuous strategic mapping: - Establish the workflow of strategy for a more Agile and emergent strategy. This can include directions, continuous strategy briefings, strategy refresh events, etc., - Identify the diverse teams involved in establishing the strategy. These can be persistent product teams, a team of teams across a larger product, or genuine diverse teams across the business. Each team plays a unique and important role in the strategy development process. - Run fortnightly live mapping sessions with those teams. Those are facilitated sessions during which the team discusses strategy, and the facilitator captures the discussion live into a Wardley Map. The team only needs a basic understanding of maps and will develop their abilities with those over time. The sessions alternate between exploring further maps on the topic and deepening the elaboration of maps that have been created, - The team periodically summarises their findings, a crucial step that feeds strategic refresh cycles, either with the leadership or board or as part of structured strategy refresh events. These summaries are key to keeping the strategy on track and ensuring everyone is aligned. Strategy refresh events: In complement to the continuous mapping, we can also facilitate structured strategy refresh events, - Establish strategy consolidation points in the business (often aligned to teams or business units), - Capture the consolidated view of the strategy into a tool like xMatrix with adequate connection between directions, execution, measures - Facilitate pre-work to the strategy refresh, reviewing effective deployment, progress of measures against expectations and hypothesis, new inputs from the unfolding landscape and the continuous strategic mapping, - Facilitation of the refresh event, organising the reflection of multiple competencies from value streams to domain experts, - Wrap with a rebaseline of the strategy for the next few months. Upon booking the service, we discuss how we would adapt and organise it over time to accommodate the possibilities you have for synchronised focus on the strategy and how to start incrementally, as it is one of the most difficult Changes to accommodate.

This booking is to establish the basis for the engagement of interest. During this initial meeting, we will discuss your needs and the suitability of the engagement. We will then produce a quote to proceed with the engagement. We will also schedule the engagement based on availability. This is especially important for multi-day engagements (e.g., strategy off-site, change increment design, etc.) or those that must be on a specific day (e.g., presentations). Best to talk early to avoid disappointment.
